Arizona State vs. Houston: Can the Sun Devils Keep It Close?

Breaking Down the Matchup as Houston Looks to Extend Its Dominance

Houston’s Road Dominance and Defensive Strength:

After a 2-0 day yesterday, I’m here to try and win another 2-0 day as we continue our march toward the tournament and build our bankroll. There are many good games today with many ranked teams on the field. Several ranked teams are also facing each other. This game isn’t between two ranked teams, but we have one of the best teams in the nation going into the game. Tonight, Houston travels to Arizona to take on Arizona State.

Arizona State’s Struggles and Chances to Cover the Spread:

I should mention that Houston probably didn’t go to Arizona. They were already in Arizona as they took on the Wildcats last weekend. It wasn’t a bad performance from the Cougars, but it was a close game with Houston winning it by four. They covered the spread if it mattered to anyone who didn’t bet on it. Houston has lost just four games this season, only one of which came in conference play. The only loss in conference play was at home against Texas Tech, in overtime. That was also a one-point loss. The other three losses came against Auburn, Alabama, and San Diego State, all on neutral courts. I think it’s a testament to the Cougars that three of their losses have also been overtime losses. They have never lost a game this season, with all four

Houston vs. Arizona State,

losses coming by a combined 14 points. After starting the season 4-3, they have gone 17-1. Their defence has been excellent in most games, but I also think – to an extent – it’s about the quality of the opponents they’ve played. Their only real struggles this season have been against ranked teams. They have won 3, 30, 1, 6, 14, 10 and 4 on the road. So, there is something everywhere. Arizona State is a great place to visit and one of the biggest party schools in the country, but it’s not exactly a basketball powerhouse. When you have to start a paragraph talking about the school instead of the basketball team, you probably know it won’t be a very positive endorsement of the team. The Sun Devils are just 12-13 this season and have been completely blown away by their conference opponents, losing 11 of 14 games. They have two separate losing streaks of at least four games, including their current five-game losing streak. They have faced defeats both at home and away, so it’s not like there is only one place where they struggle. Not all of their losses have been brutal; they have been close in four of the five games. They lost by 9, 1, 13, 5, and 4 points. They have suffered some tough defeats at home, but I think they have been better there than away. This isn’t an exciting game for Houston, but it is being shown on national television, so they will want to showcase their team since they don’t get as much national attention as other teams. The Cougars could beat the Sun Devils, but I also think there’s a real scenario where they just win, but don’t beat them. I’m going to go a little crazy here and pick an Arizona State team that has played well at home and recently. I like competitive teams. Getting 13.5 points at home seems a bit high. Support Arizona State.
