Clash of Titans: Orlando Pirates vs Al Ahly – Titanic Group C Final Showdown.

There’s a lot at stake, due to the Titanic Group C final in between Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly, but both the teams have managed to secure a place in the Champions League knockouts.

They will compete at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday, marking a thrilling end to the group stage.

There is only one point difference between the two African giants, with the Buccaneers leading the way. Meanwhile, the chasing teams in the form of Algeria’s CR Belouizdad and Ivorian side Stade d’Abidjan have dropped out of the race.

While two crucial qualifying slots are filled with one game left, both teams still have enough motivation to put up a determined effort on the final matchday. Pirates are also the front-runners to secure first place, as they will also have the added incentive of remaining undefeated in the group stage.

The same was said by defender Nkosinathi Sibisi, who has led the team to this stage of the competition.

He told “The team is very enthusiast and determined, when we enter the game against Al Ahly”. We want to remain undefeated in the group and want to be at the top. I think that is our prime ambition. We are targeting to achieve positive outcomes in Cairo.

As one of South Africa’s two representatives at the tournament, the Buccaneers are also a source of national pride. Sibisi believes a positive result against the defending champions, who started the campaign as group favourites, will mean a lot.

“Our main concern is to get a positive result here and hopefully that will be enough to stay undefeated in the group,” he said. “That is our focus and we want to represent our country and make our country proud.”

The highly-anticipated clash will kick off at 18:00 and will be broadcast live on SuperSport Variety 54 (209) and SABC 2.
