Arsenal Eye Mathys Tel as Ideal Attacking Reinforcement Before Transfer Deadline
The Versatile French Wonderkid Could Solve Arsenal’s Injury Crisis and Boost Their Forward Line

Arsenal are in the transfer market for attacking reinforcements ahead of the transfer deadline.
Centre-forwards and wingers could be priorities for manager Mikel Arteta.
TZ journalist Philipp Kessler claims Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in wonderkid Mathis Tell, who opened the door to him leaving Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
The Gunners have tracked Tell since his Renaissance days and have ‘admired’ him. The club could consider a deal to fill the void left by injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Bayern would prefer a short-term loan move this season, but Kessler reports that the famous club would like to sign the Frenchman permanently.
Chelsea has been associated with this young player for a while, but he has no interest in joining them.
Tell could offer Arsenal a dual solution.
The teenager had an outstanding 2023/24 season under manager Thomas Tuchel, scoring 16 goals in over 1,400 minutes.
He has not been able to progress this season due to his limited playing time under manager Vincent Kompany.
Tell has accumulated less than 400 minutes, in which he has provided one assist. He has been rotated into attack among the Bavarian heavyweights.
The French player is now ready for a new challenge. In our opinion, Arsenal could make an offer to sign him on loan with an option to buy next summer.
Tell would be a perfect addition for Mikel Arteta, offering versatility across the left wing, right wing, and center-forward positions—an asset that fits Arsenal’s needs perfectly.
With injuries limiting options in the forward line and right-wing position, the Rennes graduate could provide Arteta with a much-needed dual solution.
Tell has excellent pace and has good dribbling skills. He plays with great intent and has the ability to get into good goalscoring positions.
The young player has been described by Thomas Muller as a ‘brilliant finisher’. He would be a smart acquisition for the Gunners this winter.
