Sri Lanka lost Niroshan Dickwella early courtesy of a fantastic delivery from Tim Southee. His partner Danushka Gunathilaka played with a crucial knock of 71 runs from 73 balls. But after his passing, Sri Lanka looked to falter because they kept losing wickets.

After losing seven wickets for only 128 works on the board, anyone would’ve predicted that the video game is over. With five fours and three sixes, Neesham scored 64 off just 37 balls and took New Zealand to a massive score of 319 runs within their 50 overs.

The hosts have chosen to bat first after winning the toss and the centurion of the last match Martin Guptill left early for 13. But his partner Colin Munro this time around played a firing knock of 87 runs off just 77 balls before being run out.

Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera turned into a rubber game into a thriller but neglected to take SriLanka over the line in the ending as they fell short of 2 1 runs in the 2nd ODI against New Zealand.

There were four runouts in the New Zealand innings and probably the most unfortunate one has to be Ross Taylor, who ran out himself and overlooked a well-deserved hundred for just ten runs. Henry Nicholls (32) couldn’t make his innings longer while James Neesham that played a blinder in the last ODI has scored a fire knock once again.

However, Perera had additional plans. Only after coming into the crease, Perera started with guns blazing and struck the bowlers around the park. He kept the people living from the video game having just a tiny bit of support from the tail-enders.

Despite a loud bang, the all-rounder didn’t shoot SriLanka within the line since wicket maintained falling out of the flip side and he had been the last person to lose his wicket. Perera forged eight fours and also 1 3 massive sixes to dent 140 runs off only 74 balls plus he also broke the listing of Sanath Jayasuriya’s very sixes struck at ODI innings with a way of a Srilankan.
